Two unhappies is too much

I love my new place. I love London in the spring. I love sitting outside under a tree watching people play catch with their dogs. I love cooking scottish salmon. I love having all the windows open while the gentle breeze blows through the house. I love being able to walk EVERYWHERE and take a really quick tube journey when I don't want to walk. I love sitting on the roof terrace talking to my Mom on the phone. Things have DRASTICALLY improved :)

I was talking to a friend today, after traveling back from St. James's Park (sooo beautiful with all the flowers and the green and the swans and the....) and realized just how miserable I had been. The combination of frustration at work, a long commute, and inability to really kick back and relax in my old house was simply too much. Now that I've been living here a couple weeks, with my super-easy short commute, massive room, and perfectly located quiet apt where I have two nice flatmates but hardly see them or share space with....the stress is starting to roll away. And I can actually DEAL with the work stress. It's amazing what a world of difference the right living situation can make! Kinda makes me wish I had just moved out as soon as I realized I hated Kensal Rise and that having 4 people in a house was too many; but, since I waited, the landlords bought us out of our contract so the move was much less painful.

So life is looking good right now, and I am thrilled. :) I even brought back out my New Year's Resolutions to check up on myself, and I'm ok on some, pitiful on others - but the guitar is out of the case, the running shoes in regular use, and I'm going to buy a French course when I go to the US. Goals are great - if you don't forget them!

Wow, you've had an active posting week - good for you!

I know what you mean about not realizing how much you dislike a place until you leave it. It's what I went through when I visited you two months ago, as a matter of fact. But now things are a bit better.
